Judiciary and Prosecution

The judiciary and prosecution department was launched at the same time when Ghalib University was established. The University officially began its operations in Herat in 2010 as soon as it was licensed by the ministry of higher education (license No. 26). In 20 July 2011 the University established its Kabul branch (license No. 1708) started its education services there in 23 September 2011. The department teaches a total of 136 credit hours; 50 percent of the credit hours are degree courses, 30 percent of core courses and 12 percent [20 percent] university general courses.

There are 5 lecturers (members of cadre) with either Ph.D. or master’s degrees who at least has 3 years of established experiences at the department.

Vision of the Judiciary and Prosecution Department

The judiciary and prosecution department of the law and political science faculty of Ghalib University in Kabul is seeking to offer standard and high quality law education in order to train future generation of committed and expert lawyers. The department does this to promote justice and rule of law. Furthermore, it also ensures to become the law education center of the country.

Mission of Department of Judiciary and Prosecution

The judiciary and prosecution department of the law and political science faculty of Ghalib University in Kabul through quality and standard education, developing standard textbooks, theoretical and experimental research on legal issues, and through recruiting professional lecturers strive to educate students and those seeking knowledge in law. 

The Objectives of department are the following:

  • To train and educate human capital of the country;
  • To transfer knowledge to younger and future generations;
  • To educate the judiciary human resources;
  • To enlighten, to increase literacy and combat ignorance;
  • To raise students and people’s awareness about their legal rights and obligations;
  • To institutionalize order and rule of law in the society;
  • To train educators for cultural centers of the country;
  • To educate defense lawyers to defend the rights of the citizens inside the country;
  • To improve the education and teachings at the country level;
  • To educate youth and nurture talents;
