Principles of Internal Medicine

The department was officially established in October 2017 and it is led by a team of four members, one as ahead of the department.

Courses:

The following courses are thought at the department of principles of internal medicine:

Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Radiology, Infectious Disease, Tuberculosis, Neurology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Public Health; Pharmacology; Nutrition, Behavioral Sciences, and Medical Ethics. Right at the beginning of each semester, the department asks lecturers to submit their course policy, operation plans and schedules and texts for teaching and it will ensure to assist lecturers throughout the semester by coordinating their activities with the university’s president office.

Duties and responsibilities of the head of the department:

  • To oversee the time management of all department personnel;
  • To follow all procedures and terms of references to the university;
  • To ensure having patience and establishing an amicable and cordial relationship with lecturers, students, and colleagues;
  • To review and assess teaching materials;
  • To review and endorse teaching texts and notes prepared by lecturers;
  • To review lecturers’ guidelines on fieldworks and practical assignments;
  • To oversee students' practical works at the hospitals;
  • To receive reports from students on their active participation in house jobs and practical works at the hospital;
  • To review and assess lecturers’ hourly-teaching plans;
  • To submit weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the faculty;
  • To actively take part in preparing teaching course schedules;
  • To actively take part in reviewing and updating teaching curriculums;
  • To oversee lecturers’ theoretical and practical teachings in accordance to the plan and as required by the faculty;
  • To control lecturers’ attendance sheets;
  • To collaborate with other members of the cadre in accordance with the law on Higher Education;
  • To assess and comment on the publications and seminars of the members of cadre and academic personnel;
  • To actively take part in academic seminars and conferences and act as speaker, moderator or participant as required by academic authorities and responsibilities;
  • To organize and lead regular interdepartmental meetings;
  • To actively take part in committees and councils of the faculty or university;
  • To enhance his or her job and professional skills as well as academic qualifications;
  • To encourage lecturers to conduct scientific research, author textbooks and other teaching materials based on their academic authority;
  • To participate in University Examinations;
  • To ensure confidentiality and to safeguard confidential material or intellectual properties of the University and to not share these with other third party persons or institutions without permission by the President of the University;
  • To ensure consideration of everything regarding the duties and responsibilities of University staff members;
  • To ensure order and discipline at the classrooms for improved and quality education;
  • To perform other duties and tasks as requested;
