Introduction

Establishing a research center is one of the key strategies at higher education institutes to boost the research capacity at their faculties and departments. In 2018, the medical science research center was created. The vice chancellor for cultural affairs, publications and academic research oversees the center. The medical science research center is equipped with well-equipped laboratories and animal house that conducts medical research. The center closely collaborates its researches with the faculties research committee.

There is a group of researchers and specialists who holds Ph.D. degrees working on medical research, writing of academic medical papers and medical text books. Their research so far has resulted to publication of numerous books and articles on various medical themes in medical science and stomatology. The forthcoming initiative is the publication of Ghalib’s Medical Research magazine that contains research topics on health and medical science.

Goal:

The medical research center was established to foster and expand medical research in the country; this includes education and innovation and medical science, and use of information technology in the sector. The main aim of the University through this research center is to foster the culture of research, and sustainable development of the country through academic research.

Respecting intellectual property rights, integrity, honesty and ethics in research, addressing health issues of the society, meritocracy, creativity, investing on youth education, standard academic research with an intention to address the country’s problems, and publishing scientific articles in internationally recognized journals are some of the core values of the University’s research center.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Determining the country’s priorities in medical research;
  2. Intellectual and material support to lecturers and students’ research projects in medical science;
  3. Providing academic and research consultations for research proposals and projects;
  4. Conducting training workshops for lecturers and students;
  5. Publication of research articles in national and international platforms;
  6. Supporting education of human resources in medical science research;
  7. Supporting targeted academic collaboration with research centers inside and outside the country;
  8. Coordinating research initiatives with national and international research centers;
  9. Support establishing national research networks and national data banks to facilitate research;
  10. Analysis of available knowledge, technology and innovations in medical science research of the country and comparing these resources with international standards;
  11. Fostering the culture of research among lecturers, students and other public entities;
  12. Conducting training workshops for lecturers and students;
